Last week was a very volatile week in the world of stocks: The Vix volatility index shot up to the high 30s on Monday and CNN’s Fear & Greed Index indicated "extreme fear." Supposedly, very few investors would’ve predicted last Monday that the major US indices would end the week pretty much flat, showing how difficult it is to predict short-term market movements.
